Physical Education Department

Justin LongJustin Long (Department Head) lived in Central California and Southern California. He graduated from Vanguard University with a Bachelors in Sports Science and a Masters Degree in Education. He has taught at Century High School, Newport Harbor High School and NOVA Academy Early College High School before moving up north to Santa Rosa where he is now teaching PE at CCLA. Long loves to fish in his free time or go to sporting events. His favorite sports teams are the 49ers, Dodgers and Lakers.

Kristie ColemanKristie Coleman was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She began her college career at Hawaii Pacific University on a full 4 year dance scholarship; earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  She then moved to Sonoma County and attended Sonoma State University, receiving her teaching credential in Kinesiology with a supplementary authorization in Psychology.  Kristie is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hours).  She has taught Dance, Physical Education and Yoga over the past 13 years at Elsie Allen High School and is currently in her first year at CCLA teaching Physical Education.  Kristie enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, reading and working out.

Mike RunyeonMike Runyeon has lived in Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Texas and numerous spots in California. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from U.C. Santa Barbara, single subject teaching credentials in Physical Education and Social Studies from Dominican College (now known as Dominican University of California), plus an administrative credential and Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University. He played both soccer and volleyball in college. Before starting at CCLA, Mike was a teacher and administrator in San Rafael for 27 years. He also coordinated the school’s 8th grade Washington DC trip for 25 years. In his spare time, Mike likes to travel and bicycle with his wife, play with his dogs and is looking forward to watching his son play football in college.
