Third Grade Teachers

Bibiana AnzuresBibiana Anzures was born in Mexicali, Mexico, and raised in the San Diego-Tijuana region. She has experienced first-hand the struggle and sweet success associated with learning a second language in a multicultural world. After teaching English for two years at a private school in Tijuana, she worked as a Special Education Assistant for the San Diego Unified School District. In 2017, Maestra Anzures completed a Bilingual Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Diego State University (SDSU) and relocated to Sonoma County in order to become a part of the CCLA family. Maestra Anzures is passionate about teaching and creating a multicultural learning community in her classroom. She is eager to begin working with your child through insightful lessons, creative curriculum, and fostering an atmosphere geared for dual-language achievement. Maestra Anzures enjoys traveling because it gives her the opportunity to learn about different cultures and experience local cuisine!

Gien GonnellaGien Gonnella is proud to be a member of the third grade team at CCLA. Maestra Gien obtained her bachelor’s  degree and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with accompanying BCLAD from Sonoma State University. Inspired by her love of academia, she has also received a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco. Maestra Gien has nurtured a love for athletics, music and education throughout her career. She has a diversity of interests and experiences; Gien coached tennis at Santa Rosa Junior College and served on the board of the nonprofit Girls on the Run in Sonoma County. She has directed a variety of tennis camps and continues to teach piano lessons. Maestra Gien was honored to receive the National Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award presented by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). She has fostered her proclivity for Spanish in both academic and organic settings. Maestra Gien is passionate about inspiring bilingual, bicultural and biliterate students. She is dedicated to providing new avenues for her students, whether it be playing tennis on the playground, piano days during lunch or simply sharing a moment of connection. Gien believes that a bilingual education with the integration of music and movement provides a deeply unique and enriching educational experience.

 Melanea OntiverosMelanea Ontiveros was born in Michoacan, Mexico but grew up in Santa Rosa, California. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University. Since a young age, Maestra Ontiveros has had a passion for learning and education, which encouraged her to pursue a career in teaching. She strives to motivate children to become independent and lifelong learners. Maestra Ontiveros enjoys working in a caring, respectful, and engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to think, share, and have fun! In her spare time, Melanea loves gardening, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
